Virtual Paralegal Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal to join our team at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team with administrative tasks, legal research, drafting agreements, and preparing documents and court bundles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload of routine and some non-routine matters under supervision.
  • Provide clear and accurate legal advice to clients in the CPCA's services.
  • Draft legal documentation.
  • Research and analyse the law.
  • Attend court with counsel on own cases and those of others in Legal Services.
  • Provide any performance data required by the Service promptly and accurately.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and experience in one or more of the following areas of law relevant to the team in which the post holder will be working: Environment law, Transport Law, Contracts/commercial law, General Litigation, Employment law, Local Government Policy, Procurement & Contracts, Adult education, Property.
  • Law degree (desirable).
  • Experience of working in a legal office.
  • Experience of drafting legal documentation.
  • Experience of providing legal services to clients to agreed standards and of adhering to client care policies and initiatives.
  • Understanding of the workings of local government.
