Job Title: Commercial and Contracts Lead

This is a unique opportunity to join Thames Water's Strategic Resource Options (SRO) team as a Commercial and Contracts Lead. As part of this team, you will be working on a portfolio of 5 major infrastructure projects, including a new reservoir in Oxfordshire and other water supply resilience infrastructure programmes.

The total capital value of these projects exceeds £5 billion, making this a significant and challenging role. You will be working closely with the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain for the SRO Directorate and providing commercial and contractual management support for technical and programme management partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside and support technical and programme partner service managers.
  • Provide and build the capability for commercial support for partners under NEC4 contracts.
  • Ensure that both Thames Water and service managers discharge their role correctly concerning commercial elements of partner frameworks.
  • Offer commercial and contractual guidance to service managers.
  • Work closely with the Head of Programme Controls and Insights, SRO Senior Leadership Team, and others to ensure that outputs, outcomes, resources, and services provided by supply chain partners meet required standards and provide best value for the programme.
  • Steer and operate effective performance measurement, value management, and change control processes.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level with a RICS qualification and membership.
  • Significant experience as an established and credible leader working on multibillion-pound major infrastructure programmes.
  • Previous experience as a Senior Commercial Quantity Surveyor Manager or Commercial Lead within a similar major programme managing a delivery partner or contractor on behalf of a client entity.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills and proven successful experience working with a large number of stakeholders at the same time.
  • Resilient and able to adapt and implement change at speed while creating an environment for people to thrive.
  • Non-negotiable work ethic concerning the health, safety, and wellbeing of team members and the wider environment.
