As a key member of our engineering team, you will assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of our engineering department. Your role will involve supporting the team in maintaining high standards of service delivery, while operating within budget and adhering to regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in leading the engineering team to achieve service delivery targets and maintain high standards of quality.
  • Support the team in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans to ensure optimal vehicle availability.
  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians to ensure safe and effective working practices.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including the Engineering Manager, Depot Managers, and other department heads.
  • Identify and address any areas of improvement within the engineering team, including training and development needs.
Requirements
  • A strong engineering background with experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy vehicles and equipment.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and procedures, with the ability to lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment.
