Job Title: Assistant Engineering Manager

As a key member of our engineering team, you will assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of our engineering department. Your role will involve supporting the team in delivering high-quality service to our customers, while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in leading the engineering team to achieve service delivery targets and maintain core KPIs and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the team in identifying and addressing areas for improvement in fleet reliability, focusing on breakdown reduction, planned maintenance, and lost mileage.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to manage engineering costs and increase the efficiency and capability of the engineering team.
  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers to ensure a safe and effective working environment is maintained.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to develop and implement strategies to improve engineering operations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • A strong engineering background with proven experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy vehicles, equipment, and/or machinery.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and the ability to lead by example in adhering to related working policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work in partnership with Trade Union representatives and other stakeholders.
