Job Title: Assistant Engineering Manager

As a key member of our engineering team, you will assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of our engineering department. Your role will involve supporting the team in delivering high-quality service to our customers, while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in planning and coordinating engineering operations to meet service delivery targets.
  • Lead and supervise a team of engineers to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in our engineering processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to manage engineering costs and ensure that we are operating within budget.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our trade union representatives to ensure that we are working collaboratively to achieve our goals.
Requirements:
  • A strong engineering background with experience in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy vehicles and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve shared goals.
