Job Summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and compassionate Children's Nurse to lead our Complex Care team in the Children's Community Nursing Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for coordinating, providing, and progressing care for children and young people with complex and palliative needs.

Main Responsibilities

As a Complex Care Lead, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and providing care for children and young people with complex and palliative needs
  • Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Developing and implementing care plans to maximize patient outcomes
  • Providing education and training to junior colleagues
  • Participating in palliative and end-of-life care, including a 24-hour on-call rota

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration as a Children's Nurse with the NMC
  • At least 2 years of post-registration experience in community or complex care settings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care
