We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Adult Social Care Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Service. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health needs and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out assessments and interventions under the Mental Health Act, including consideration of detention and community treatment orders.
- Work closely with local authority adult social care teams, health colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide advice and support on complex practice issues.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working, safeguarding meetings, and joint visits with social care staff.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with service users, their families, and carers to ensure person-centered care and support.
- Registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse with a proven commitment to professional development and experience of working with people in mental health crises.
- Current AMHP approval or willingness to submit a portfolio for re-approval or undertake specialist AMHP training.
- Excellent appreciation and understanding of the European Convention on Human Rights, with a strong focus on recovery principles and awareness of the impact of mental disorder on individuals and their families.
