About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Adviser to join our team's Strategy Branch, responsible for the domestic Corporate Tax system and other taxes, including the Digital Services tax and Electricity Generator Levy.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that provides a great opportunity to work on high-profile issues with a direct impact on the government's finances, companies, and the UK's attractiveness as a place to do business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and advising ministers on emerging issues in Corporation Tax, working closely with HMRC policy partners, and leading on analysis, project management, and advice to ministers on specific Corporation Tax measures in the Budget process and Finance Bills.

The role also involves taking forward elements of policy on the future of Corporation Tax and working with the rest of HMT and other government departments to explain the Corporation Tax system and its impact on their objectives.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual who can analyse and use a range of relevant information to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a straightforward, honest, and engaging communication style and be able to maximise the impact of their message.

The successful candidate will also be able to remain alert to emerging trends and issues that might impact their work area and have a strong understanding of the UK's tax system and its impact on businesses and individuals.
