About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Adviser to join our team's Strategy Branch, responsible for the domestic Corporate Tax system and other taxes, including the Digital Services tax and Electricity Generator Levy.

This role offers a great opportunity to work on high-profile issues that have a direct impact on the government's finances, companies, and the UK's attractiveness as a place to do business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and advising ministers on emerging issues in Corporation Tax, working closely with HMRC policy partners, and leading on analysis, project management, and advice to ministers on specific Corporation Tax measures in the Budget process and Finance Bills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert advice to ministers on Corporation Tax policy and emerging issues
  • Leading on analysis and project management of Corporation Tax measures in the Budget process and Finance Bills
  • Working with HMRC policy partners to develop and implement Corporation Tax policy
  • Collaborating with other government departments to explain the Corporation Tax system and its impact on their objectives
About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Policy Adviser who can analyze and use a range of relevant information to support decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have a straightforward, honest, and engaging communication style, able to maximize the impact of their message, and remain alert to emerging trends and issues that might impact their work area.
