Main Responsibilities
Clinical
- To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills to create targeted treatment plans.
- To formulate and deliver individual or group physiotherapy treatment programmes in line with best practice guidelines.
- To coordinate and ensure effective delivery of therapy services, liaising and cooperating with colleagues across PCNs and adult social care teams.
- To evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required, and to advise and support junior colleagues.
Professional
- To maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) and incorporate it into working practice.
- To actively participate in Performance Development Plans and review processes.
- To be an active member of the in-service training programme by attending and delivering at training sessions.
- To train, supervise, and performance manage junior staff and students, including formal appraisals.
Organisational
- To be responsible for the safe use of equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties and to adhere to departmental policies and guidelines.
- To share responsibility for departmental tidiness, maintenance, and administration.
- To utilise IT systems to improve the efficiency of the service.
- To supervise and coordinate junior staff and rehab assistants, ensuring their practice meets required professional standards.
General Responsibilities
- To maintain complete confidentiality of all patient and staff information known or acquired during work.
- To adhere to all trust policies and procedures of Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy, Registered with the Health Care Professions Council.
Experience
- Essential: Relevant post-qualification experience with a range of client groups, Appreciation of constraints to working in the community, Experience of MDT working, Experience of clinical teaching within the MDT.
Skills
- Essential: Experienced manual handling skills, Physical ability to carry out therapy assessment and intervention.
Other
- Essential: Valid Driver's License with car for business use.
