About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales and Project Engineer to join our team at Howden, A Chart Industries Company. As a key member of our Sales and Projects Team, you will play a critical role in identifying and winning new business opportunities to drive growth and increase our customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Solutions Specialist: Provide technical input to our solutions for Field Services or Repairs, working closely with our Technical Support function to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Sales and Project Engineer: Embed within our Sales and Projects Teams, utilizing your strong technical knowledge and capability to drive sales and project success.
  • Problem Solver: Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, challenging our processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Project Management: Manage assigned projects and work packages, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with relevant new technologies, legal, safety, contractual, and export compliance regulations to maintain our high standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the highest levels of quality assurance are maintained for all activities within scope of the role.
  • Risk Management: Own the work scopes, risk assessments, method statements, and other associated procedures for maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of assignment products.
  • Health and Safety: Observe health and safety at work procedures and complete all required Risk Assessments while on site.
  • Customer Engagement: Secure orders by evaluating customer needs, responding promptly and correctly, and offering pricing that maximizes profit to the company.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as a technical liaison between the company and clients, understanding and interpreting customer requirements, and delivering competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Growth Strategies: Assist in developing growth strategies and plans, building on success and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Time served Indentured Apprenticeship to a recognized National Standard.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge and first-hand experience of assigned products, including troubleshooting, overhaul, repair, fault finding, installation, and commissioning.
  • Soft Skills: Self-starting, drive to take responsibility, customer-focused, ability to produce detailed written technical documents, project management skills, and ability to supervise others.
