About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales and Project Development Specialist to join our team at Howden, A Chart Industries Company. As a key member of our Sales and Projects Team, you will play a central role in identifying and winning new business opportunities to increase our customer base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Utilize your strong technical knowledge and capability to provide first-line technical input to our solutions for Field Services or Repairs.
  • Sales Support: Embed within our Sales and Projects Teams to support our sales process, including site visits and working with colleagues to tender for work.
  • Prospecting: Research and contact companies that could be potential customers, seeking out new business opportunities.
  • Project Management: Manage assigned projects and work packages, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Technical Expertise: Continuously update your knowledge of relevant new technologies, legal, safety, contractual, and export compliance regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest levels of quality assurance for all activities within the scope of the role.
  • Health and Safety: Observe health and safety at work procedures and complete all required Risk Assessments while on site.
  • Customer Service: Respond to all customer enquiries and progress orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Technical Liaison: Act as a technical liaison between the company and clients, understanding and interpreting customer requirements and delivering competitive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Growth Strategies: Assist in the development of growth strategies and plans, building on success and identifying areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Time served Indentured Apprenticeship to a recognized National Standard.
  • Technical Expertise: Expert knowledge and first-hand experience of assigned products, including trouble shooting, overhaul, repair, fault finding, installation, and commissioning.
  • Soft Skills: Self-starting, drive to take responsibility, customer-focused, ability to produce detailed written technical documents, project management skills, and ability to supervise others.
