Credit Controller

Gleeson Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading distribution organisation to find a skilled Credit Controller to join their team on a permanent basis. This exciting opportunity has arisen due to the company's growth and success, and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the sales ledger and ensuring timely payments.
Key Responsibilities:- Reconcile daily sales ledger transactions and perform daily sales invoice runs and monthly statement runs.
- Raise sales credit notes and manually raise pro-forma invoices, advance bills, or miscellaneous invoices.
- Resolve queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices, liaising with sales and warehouse departments as needed.
- Post and allocate daily receipts to accounting systems and provide accounts information to internal departments.
- Maintain detailed and accurate notes regarding debtors on the internal system and ensure the team leader is equipped with relevant data on the Credit Controller's assigned ledger.
- Assist with submission to invoicing discounting providers and create new customer accounts in accordance with internal procedures.
- Correctly identify VAT positions of transactions with customers in the UK and Europe and provide ad-hoc reporting as requested by management.
- Undertake account reconciliations as required and assist with periodic sales ledger audits.
- Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required.
- Minimum 12 months of Credit Control experience.
- Confidence in using MS Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail.
- VAT knowledge for UK and EU sales transactions.
