Dakota Edinburgh is a luxury hotel located in the heart of South Queensferry, offering a unique blend of style, comfort, and exceptional service. As a Night Porter, you will be an integral part of our Front of House Team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Meetings and Events
- Set up and prepare our meetings and events spaces for conferences and private dinners, paying close attention to detail to provide guests with an immaculately clean and welcoming space.
- Deep Cleaning
- Carry out deep cleaning tasks such as vacuum cleaning, dusting, and polishing, as well as mopping to thoroughly clean the public areas of the hotel.
- Customer Service
- Work closely with all other departments, particularly Reception, to ensure excellent communication and be proactive in assisting other departments as required.
- Deliver room service, take items to guest bedrooms, and answer the hotel phone in a professional and courteous manner.
- Health and Safety
- Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times, particularly pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines and best practice relating to the immaculate upkeep of back of house and public areas.
- Fire Safety
- Be assigned the role of Fire Warden in the event of an emergency evacuation and be trained as a fire evacuation chair user to assist our guests.

About You
We are looking for a reliable and dependable individual with a minimum of one year's working experience in a cleaning or labouring role.
