Night Porter

We are seeking a reliable and proactive individual to join our Front of House Team as a Night Porter at Dakota Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year's working experience in a cleaning or labouring role and be able to work independently with an eye for detail.

The role is a permanent contract of a minimum of 38 hours per week, with typical shifts working any 4 days out of 7, including weekends.

The Night Porter will be responsible for setting up meetings and events spaces, carrying out deep cleaning tasks, and working closely with other departments to ensure excellent communication and assistance.

• Meetings and Events Spaces: Set up and prepare meetings and events spaces for conferences and private dinners, ensuring an immaculately clean and welcoming space for guests.
• Deep Cleaning Tasks: Carry out deep cleaning tasks such as vacuum cleaning, dusting, and polishing, and mopping to thoroughly deep clean the public areas of the hotel.
• Communication and Assistance: Work closely with other departments, particularly Reception, to ensure excellent communication and be proactive in assisting other departments as required.
• Fire Warden and Fire Evacuation Chair User: Be assigned the role of Fire Warden in the event of an emergency evacuation and be trained as a fire evacuation chair user to assist guests.
• Health and Safety: Follow health and safety procedures closely at all times, particularly pertaining to the handling of waste and manual handling.
