Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our Kier Rail team in Manchester. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for leading the commercial aspects of our rail infrastructure projects, working closely with our construction teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for projects, ensuring effective collaboration with the construction director and commercial manager.
  • Establish and maintain efficient systems for filing and retrieving project information, ensuring seamless access for team members.
  • Oversee and manage subcontractor accounts, ensuring timely payments and effective communication.
  • Procure sub-contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company policies.
  • Compile project-specific commercial issues for reporting and presentation at client progress meetings.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a degree in quantity surveying.
  • Experience within the rail, construction, or civils industry.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial risks and opportunities.
