Capital and Projects Director

Job Summary
The Capital Project Manager EMEA is responsible for the end-to-end execution of assigned Capital projects in the range of $5M to $10M and may execute projects up to $15M. This role requires close collaboration with business leadership, technology, maintenance, operations, engineering, safety, and quality teams to ensure successful project implementation at multiple sites and creative centers in the Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for overall project performance, including safety, operability, quality, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinates with Project Sponsor and Business Engineering Director to develop Business Objectives Letter.
- Leads and provides input into developing the project objectives with various stakeholders (Creative Centers, R&D Labs, Manufacturing Sites).
- Coordinates with the Site Teams / Global Capital Execution Leader to develop project execution strategy and priorities to support achievement of business objectives.
- Coordinates with Finance to develop project economic model to support project justification and prioritization.
Communication
- Regularly engages the project steering team to ensure alignment with business and functional direction, seek help with issue resolution, and provide status updates throughout the project's execution.
- Defines and analyzes Key Performance Indicators to ensure overall performance expectations for the project are met and communicates results to the steering team and appropriate functional leaders.
Project Execution
- Ensures all required Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) reviews are held, and Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis requirements and recommendations are incorporated into the facility design and installation.
- Accountable for the safe execution of all field construction activities leveraging, when needed, Construction Management through Engineering contractors.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of Project Quality Plans, including auditing work processes and deliverables for compliance, and for meeting agreed-upon project quality requirements and expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or equivalent technical experience in Engineering fields.
- At least ten years of working experience with a successful track record of technical projects from early stage to late stage and the leadership required to accomplish this project progression.
- Experience with laboratory and clean rooms environment, GMP design, FS/FQ requirements, Food Systems practices, and design preferred.
- Ability to lead multiple projects/tasks and drive projects to completion with strong operability to support reliable, high-quality production.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required and experience with Microsoft Project, SAP, and/or other project management tools preferred.
- Project Manager Professional (PMP) Certification is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge of Flavors / Food Ingredients Manufacturing preferred.
- Strong networking skills combined with a strong flair for communication.
- Demonstrated organizational, structural, and know-how regarding interpersonal skills, including confrontation skills, alignment skills, supportive skills, and leading change management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of project management or portfolio management is preferred.
