Support Worker for Complex Needs

The RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a diverse range of needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and non-verbal communication needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Personal Care: Assisting pupils with personal care tasks, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
- Individual Support: Implementing individualised learning and care plans, tailored to each pupil's specific needs and abilities.
- Communication Support: Supporting non-verbal communication methods, such as using sign language, communication boards, and other assistive technologies.
- Classroom Assistance: Working closely with teachers to support pupils in classroom activities, ensuring they can engage and participate fully.
- Behavioural Support: Managing and supporting positive behaviour in line with school policies, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
- Social Development: Encouraging and enabling pupils to engage in social interactions and develop interpersonal skills.
- Monitoring Progress: Observing and recording pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents, and adjusting support strategies as needed.
- DBS: Must have an active DBS on the update service
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months experience working with SEN pupils
- Availability: Full-time, term-time only
- Skills: Patience, empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
