About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our Elderly Care team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to older adults with frailty, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist care to older adults with frailty, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Work collaboratively with consultant colleagues and the Acute Frailty Team to develop and implement effective care pathways.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies to improve patient care.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care is delivered.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Requirements
  • Hold a medical qualification registered with the GMC and have a full license to practice.
  • Have a higher medical qualification (MRCP or equivalent) and be on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Have a strong track record of clinical expertise in geriatric medicine and frailty.
  • Be able to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
