Job Summary:

MLK Education Search is seeking an experienced and visionary Headteacher to lead a small, ambitious Secondary CofE Academy on its aspirational journey. The successful candidate will drive the creation and implementation of a distinctly Christian vision within the school, embedding the Trust and School visions into every area of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the creation and implementation of a distinctly Christian vision within the school.
  • Embed the Trust and School visions into every area of the role and challenge and support others in achieving the same.
  • Promote the need for pupils to actively engage in Excellence, Exploration, and Encouragement and support the belief that all children need to flourish in a creative environment.
  • Provide professional leadership and be responsible for the efficient day-to-day and strategic management of the school.
  • Lead the school community in promoting positive attitudes to learning throughout the whole community.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the wider Trust, with the understanding that it is one organisation working in partnership to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • If desired, take on additional responsibility for leading Careers and Enterprise work across the Trust.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as well as the NPQH (or be working towards).
  • Significant experience as a Headteacher or Head of School in a similar setting.
  • Sustained record of school improvement, leading and sustaining educational initiative, and effective management of funding and resources.
  • Evidence of effective appointment and personnel management.
  • Understanding and experience of working within a Church environment would be desirable but not essential.
