About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Associate in Psychology to join our Community Adult Eating Disorder Service team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

As a Clinical Associate in Psychology, you will work alongside Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, psychological therapists, and Assistant Psychologists as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). Our team values psychological services and is committed to embracing a MDT and whole system approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective evidence-based care to national and local guidelines
  • Manage a caseload and take responsibility for proactive care delivery decisions, within your scope of practice and under the supervision of a registered clinical psychologist
  • Plan, assess, implement, and evaluate programs of care
  • Maintain a compassionate, caring, and safe care environment
Person Specification

We are looking for a Clinical Associate in Psychology with:

  • Masters Clinical Associate in Psychology qualification
  • Eligibility for registration on the BPS Wider Psychological Workforce register as an Associate Psychologist

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Further continuing professional development courses relevant to work in mental health and/or psychological interventions

Essential knowledge includes:

  • Masters-level knowledge of psychological theory and research, including psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation
  • Masters-level knowledge of mental health presentations, within adult mental health services
  • Masters-level knowledge of applied research design and methodology

Desirable knowledge includes:

  • Knowledge of the use of psychological therapies in eating disorders

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Relevant supervised experience of delivering psychological assessments and interventions in adult mental health and community services
  • Experience of working in a setting with service users presenting with severe and enduring mental health difficulties
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Full driving license and car available for work purposes

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Experience of working with people with eating disorders
