Chesterfield, Derbyshire, United Kingdom Quality Service Recruitment Full time

We are seeking a skilled Care Assistant to join our team in a care home setting. As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to residents living in their own flats under one roof.

The care is delivered on a community care type basis with scheduled visits to the resident's flats and ad-hoc assistance also available to the residents. You will be working straight shifts, no travelling between sites and no unpaid travel time – just delivering the care to the residents that they need and deserve.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking scheduled visits to perform standard tasks such as personal care, light domestic duties, basic meal preparation etc
  • Administering medication as required – which can be a mix of prompted medication as well as assisted medicating. As well as completing the appropriate MARs.
  • Working either from 06:00 to 14:00 or 14:00 to 22:00 with hours available on various days throughout the week.

Due to the location of this service, we are looking for applicants within the local area or with their own transport due as the timings of public transport options within the area do not match the shift requirements.

The pay rate for this role is:

  • £11.44 per hour for hours worked between 07:00 to 19:00
  • £15.22 per hour for hours worked between 19:00 to 07:00

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be able to provide 2 years of professional referencing, including 1 from your most recent employer.
  • Hold in-date mandatory training certificates (inc. Practical moving and handling training)
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate dated within the past 4 months or registered on the update service.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months paid UK work experience working within a care home or nursing home setting.
  • Have a full, up-to-date CV with a minimum of 5 years of employment history.

We are happy to offer online training available at a subsidised fee and the certificates are yours to keep.
