Job Title: Geriatric Medicine Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to elderly patients and contributing to the development of our frailty pathway.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an acute frailty pathway to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide teaching and training to junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Take responsibility for the care of elderly patients on our wards
  • Contribute to the development of our geriatric service and ensure its efficient running
  • Participate in clinical trials and research projects
  • Work closely with other specialist teams to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and service management

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for Specialist Register
  • Experience in geriatric medicine and frailty care
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals
