Geriatric Medicine Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant physician in geriatric medicine to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, providing high-quality care to frail elderly patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive geriatric assessments for frail elderly patients, developing and implementing effective care plans to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure specialist geriatric input to patients, adhering to British Orthopaedic Association and NCEPOD standards.
  • Deliver high-quality specialist services to primary care through rapid access clinics and provision of information and advice.
Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights.
  • Postgraduate higher qualification in Geriatrics or equivalent competency.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, as well as non-medical health professionals.
  • Commitment to medical audit and quality improvement initiatives.
