Job Title: Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Physician in Geriatric Medicine to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our patients and contributing to the development of our frailty services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an acute frailty pathway to improve patient outcomes
  • Provide teaching and training to junior doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Take responsibility for the care of patients on the elderly care wards at West Cumberland Hospital
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities
  • Participate in clinical trials and research projects
  • Work closely with other specialist teams to ensure seamless care for our patients
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and the running of clinical areas

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for appointment to this level of post requires being on the Specialist Register
  • Experience in geriatric medicine and frailty services
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Relocation assistance of up to £8,000 for successful applicants moving to the region
  • Discretionary recruitment premium of up to 10% of basic salary per annum
