Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a dedicated and award-winning recruitment agency with a strong reputation for excellence, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant - Stroke Medicine to work in a full-time capacity in Carlisle.

The salary for this permanent Consultant position is £105,504 - £139,882 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement an acute frailty pathway, further enhancing frailty services.
  2. Provide teaching and guidance to Junior Doctors, Medical Students, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Share expertise with Consultant colleagues as an educational or clinical supervisor to Junior doctors in training.
  4. Engage in personal development and mandatory training to stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices.
  5. Participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities within the Trust.
  6. Contribute to clinical trials and work closely with other specialist teams.
  7. Work with managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services.
  8. Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care and clinical area management.
  9. Assist in the preparation of business plans and support the Booked Appointment Systems.
  10. Take an interest in research and teaching, participating in projects and courses.
  11. Participate in Consultant Appraisal and Job Plan, and review annually and as necessary.

Requirements:

  1. Full Registration with the General Medical Council.
  2. Specialist Registration for Geriatrics and GIM, MRCP.
  3. Entry on the GMC specialist register via relevant CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), relevant CESR or European Community Rights.
  4. High level of clinical experience and competence in Geriatrics and GIM.
  5. Completed Higher Specialist Training (CCT) in Geriatrics or evidence of equivalent competency.
