Support Assistant for SEN Students

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with special education needs at a SEN school in Tamworth. This role involves working with children aged 11+ years old who require additional assistance due to various learning difficulties, autism, and speech & language challenges.

This position requires the ability to create a safe and engaging environment that fosters learning and success. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to provide academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing tailored support to students with SEN
  2. Creating a safe and inclusive environment
  3. Academic support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  4. Assisting teachers as needed

Requirements:

  • Teaching assistant qualification desirable but not essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN or working with children in a youth setting
  • Recent relevant degree (e.g. Speech & Language)

Benefits:

  • GBP90 minimum daily rate
  • Temporary contract with possible permanent opportunities
  • Term-time only, Monday - Friday, approximately 5-6 hours per day
