About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Freelance Language Interpreter to join our team at Language Empire, covering various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations.

As an experienced interpreter, you will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting services to individuals in need of language support. Your ability to communicate effectively in English and another language is crucial for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret for clients using legal, health and local government services
  • Verify the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence
  • Conduct conference, consecutive and public service interpreting
  • Handle highly confidential information
  • Liaise between service users and providers
Requirements
  • Fluent English and proficiency in another language
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must be aged 21 or over
  • Hold relevant qualifications such as DPSI, Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration, or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately £25,000 - £35,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and market rates for freelance interpreters in the UK.
