**Job Title:** Housing Support Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housing Support Specialist to join our team at Target Point New Srl. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality housing and support services to residents, assisting them to sustain their tenancies and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with moving in and out of our accommodation, ensuring a smooth transition and providing necessary support.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' circumstances, aspirations, and needs to create personalized support plans that are realistic and achievable.
  • Act as a keyworker, offering advice and support to residents to help them develop skills for independent living, including budgeting and managing personal finances.
  • Support residents in understanding their rights and responsibilities under their occupancy agreements, ensuring they are aware of their obligations and expectations.
  • Encourage and motivate residents to achieve their personal goals, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure they are properly recorded and shared with relevant staff members.
  • Review and update support plans regularly, adapting them to changing resident needs and circumstances.
  • Monitor residents' rent payments and assist with benefit claims as necessary.
  • Monitor residents' handling of our property and consumption of utilities, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Monitor occupancy to prevent abandonment or damage, taking prompt action to avoid unnecessary costs.
  • Assist residents with budgeting and negotiate with other bodies on their behalf to resolve arrears, such as rent owed to the local authority.
  • Liaise with external organizations, including the Probation Service, to ensure residents' needs are met and relevant information is shared.
  • Enable and support residents to deal with conflicts and disputes, both within the community and with neighbors.
  • Assist in delivering and developing resident activities, promoting a sense of community and social inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring the value of our tenant support service can be audited and confidentiality policies are upheld.
  • Build relationships with external organizations, maintaining constructive working relationships and ensuring residents' needs are met.
  • Participate in office duty arrangements and provide cover for absent colleagues as needed.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of services provided to vulnerable groups, including those in housing and supported accommodation.
  • Knowledge of delivering supported housing services and working with residents to achieve their goals.
  • Basic understanding of the Welfare Benefits System and risk assessments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrating customer focus, integrity, and strong communication skills.
