Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Health and Safety Professional to join our team at TVS Supply Chain Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for driving a culture of safety across all UK sites, ensuring the well-being and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Health and Safety Leadership: Develop and implement a robust Health and Safety Management System, driving a culture of zero harm and compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Audit: Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and develop control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Training and Development: Devise training programmes in health and safety to ensure the competence of managers in fulfilling their health and safety responsibilities, and implement a training program for employees, contractors, and third-party suppliers on health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and first aid kits.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards, and develop procedures for reporting incidents, investigating incidents, recording incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field (NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Leadership Experience: Experienced leader and manager with a proven track record of achievement, ideally within a logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Health and Safety Expertise: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices, as well as knowledge of auditing principles and techniques.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Salary and Benefits

  • Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • Benefits: Competitive salary and pension scheme, 25 days holiday (plus 8 statutory Bank Holidays), holiday buy-back scheme, employee assistance programme, professional membership and study sponsorship, and cycle to work scheme.
