Salary

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of £25,000 per annum (FTE), pro-rata to £18,500 term-time only. This competitive package reflects the importance we place on attracting and retaining talented individuals who share our vision for providing exceptional support services.

Job Description

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing classroom support to students aged 4-11 with Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, ADHD, and Severe Social Anxieties.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitoring pupil progress, assessing, recording, and reporting on achievement, development, and behaviour.

You will work closely with qualified SENCOs and receive ongoing training and development to ensure you have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of child development and mental health principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND and SEMH needs.

A Psychology Graduate background or equivalent experience is highly desirable, as is previous experience working within the mental health field.
