Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Croydon, London.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and support their academic and personal growth. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students, assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and support classroom teachers in managing student behaviour and maintaining a conducive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs, ensuring students receive targeted support.
  • Support classroom teachers in managing student behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure holistic development.
  • Engage in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Legal right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available for this position).
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a secondary school setting.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN.
  • Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and supporting a positive learning environment.
  • Good understanding of the UK academic system and curriculum.
