SEND Teaching Assistant Role in Croydon

Ribbons & Reeves are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support Secondary School pupils with ASC and ADHD in Croydon.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the SENCO to support whole class learning, small groups, or one-to-one with students who have a range of additional and complex SEND.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils with special educational needs.
  • Encourage participation and independence in social and academic processes.
  • Work with children and young people with ADHD, ASC, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, speech language and communication needs, and resistant behavior.
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree with strong attainment across GCSE and A-Level.
  • Effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and student behaviors.
  • Good understanding of child learning and previous knowledge of ASC and ADHD.
  • Good organizational skills and a positive, resilient mindset.
