Support Vulnerable Young People

A well-respected specialist school near Coulsdon is seeking a dedicated Intervention and Pastoral Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students range between 10 and 16 years old, and face a range of social, emotional and mental health challenges, including trauma, anxiety, OCD, and behavioural issues.

The ideal candidate will be a consistent role model, committed to building strong relationships, and empathetic. They will have experience working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, and be knowledgeable about mental health. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Counselling would be perfect for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEMH needs
  • Build strong relationships with students and staff
  • Provide emotional support and guidance
  • Work collaboratively with the school team
