We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Adult Safeguarding Services. As Head of Adult Safeguarding Services, you will be responsible for supporting multi-agency learning and development, leading on Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) and Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs), and contributing to Quality and Practice Audits.
You will also lead high-profile operational teams, including a central team of safeguarding professionals and the Council's Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) service. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance, and excellent interpersonal skills.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Social or Health Care qualification and current registration, as well as a management qualification or significant experience at a suitable level. You should also be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Expertise in the Safeguarding agenda and ability to provide advice to elected members, corporate management team, and multi-agency partners.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Strong understanding of the mental health and mental capacity agendas.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to challenge poor practice and de-escalate difficult situations.
- Ability to encourage and celebrate outstanding practice within the service.
