Pharmacy Assistant Role

Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a 7-day service requirement and varied hours. The successful candidate will work in a Grade Band 2 contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the dispensary team in meeting daily objectives and adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Dispense medication to patients, including discharge and inpatient medication, under supervision.
  • Contribute to the Pharmacy distribution service by performing tasks such as receiving goods, conducting ward top-ups, and issuing stock to wards.
Aseptic Services:
  • Maintain a clean and safe Aseptic Services environment and equipment according to local SOPs.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining aseptic environments.
  • Record and report data as required by the Associate Director and Chief Technician.
  • Comply with GMP requirements for dress and hygiene when working in aseptic services.

Essential Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or willingness to pursue an Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services.
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats with colleagues and patients.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy services procedures and computer systems.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £28,166 per annum, dependent on location and other factors.
