Procurement Officer

The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer to join their existing Procurement team. This is a challenging and rare opportunity for the right individual to provide high-quality support and administration for all day-to-day purchasing requirements of the Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional procurement advice to internal customers within the Trust, communicating effectively with staff at all levels.
- Manage a portfolio of projects across a wide range of categories, both clinical and non-clinical, using best practice tools and techniques to achieve contract compliance, cost reductions, and savings.
- Work closely with the Procurement team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive change in e-procurement systems and internal supply chain, logistics, and stores.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with public sector procurement legislation and regulations.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or currently in the process of achieving full membership.
- General standard of education GCSE or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
- Evidence of continuous personal development (PDP).
- Willingness to undertake any training as required by the Trust.
- Experience in a procurement and supply environment, with basic knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing, stock management, negotiating, EU Legislation, and Procurement Rules and Systems.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Full (manual) UK Clean Driving Licence.
- Experience of supervising, training, and supporting staff.
- Experience of project management.
- Knowledge of data protection and understanding of confidentiality requirements.
The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24-hour, 365-day accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West, providing non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
