About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our Procurement team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective delivery of our procurement services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional procurement advice to internal customers, communicating effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Manage and administer procurement processes, ensuring compliance with best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve cost savings and improved service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procurement strategies, aligned with the Trust's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive change within the procurement function.
Requirements
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or currently in the process achieving full membership.
  • General standard of education GCSE or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
  • Evidence of continuous personal development (PDP).
  • Willingness to undertake any training as required by the Trust.
Desirable Criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Full (manual) UK Clean Driving Licence.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to function as a team player and self-motivator, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to internal customers.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in I.T. packages, particularly word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in a procurement and supply environment, with a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
  • Basic knowledge of e-procurement systems and/or experience of manual and automated stock control systems.
