Job Overview

The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join their team. As a key member of the Procurement team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality procurement support and administration for the Trust's purchasing requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional procurement advice to internal customers, communicating effectively with staff at all levels, and managing the day-to-day purchasing activities of the Trust.

Main Responsibilities

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for:

  • Providing procurement advice and support to internal customers
  • Managing the Trust's purchasing activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and contract management
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to identify and address procurement-related issues
  • Providing administrative support for procurement-related activities
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or currently in the process of achieving full membership
  • General standard of education GCSE or equivalent, including Mathematics and English
  • Evidence of continuous personal development (PDP)
  • Willingness to undertake any training as required by the Trust
Working for Our Organisation

The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24-hour, 365-day accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West, providing non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
