About the Job
The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join their existing Procurement team. This is a rare opportunity for a candidate to provide high-quality support and administration for all day-to-day purchasing requirements of the Trust.
The successful candidate will be required to provide professional procurement advice to internal customers within the Trust, communicating effectively with staff at all levels. They must be confident and tolerant of dealing with queries from internal customers by phone, email or face to face.
Main Responsibilities
The candidate will play a key role in the effective delivery of a portfolio of projects across a wide range of categories, both clinical and non-clinical. They will use best practice tools and techniques to achieve contract compliance, cost reductions and savings while ensuring continuous improvement in quality.
The successful candidate must have competent administration and computer literacy skills, an organised approach to work and attention to detail when using the Trust system(s). They must be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines to deliver results. Demonstrable achievements of procurement at a similar level will be an advantage as well as an understanding of public sector procurement legislation.
About the Team
The Procurement team is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services to support the Trust's operations. The team works closely with other departments to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with the Trust's business objectives.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience in a procurement and supply environment, basic knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing, stock management, negotiating, EU Legislation and Procurement Rules and Systems. They must also have good communication and presentation skills, ability to function as a team player and self-motivator, analytical and problem-solving skills, and customer service skills.
