We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Signalling Systems Designer to join our team at Randstad Cpe London. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Control, Command, and Signalling (CCS) systems, specifically in the design and implementation of interlocking systems (mechanical, electronic, and computer-based) and train detection technologies such as track circuits, axle counters, and ETCS.

This role requires a strong understanding of railway technical standards and compliance frameworks such as Common Safety Method (CSM). The successful candidate will be responsible for scrutinising rail system suppliers' designs, products, and engineering solutions, asking fundamental questions, and ensuring the proposed systems meet the required safety and operational standards.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of risk management and experience with the European Train Control System (ETCS), especially Level 2 and 3. They will be a problem-solver who can challenge designs and drive safety and innovation within complex signalling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement interlocking systems and train detection technologies
  2. Scrutinise rail system suppliers' designs and products
  3. Ensure proposed systems meet safety and operational standards
  4. Manage risk and drive innovation within complex signalling systems
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a relevant field
  2. Experience with CCS systems and ETCS
  3. Strong understanding of railway technical standards and compliance frameworks
