About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Real Estate Manager to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our property and facilities management team, you will be responsible for the strategic management of our corporate real estate portfolio, ensuring that our workplaces meet the needs of our business and our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize our corporate real estate portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
  2. Manage the utilization, maintenance, and renewal of our workplaces and associated assets, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  3. Prepare and manage income and expenditure budgets, ensuring effective financial management and control.
  4. Assess and develop revenue and capital investment initiatives to maximize the performance and value of our buildings.
  5. Provide data-driven insights and advice on the performance of our buildings, including income, expenditure, capital, and rental values.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of our total facilities management contract, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and welcoming services are provided.
  7. Work with colleagues to maintain and enhance our facilities services strategy, ensuring a seamless customer experience and financial performance.
  8. Maintain a safe and healthy workplace environment, ensuring compliance with corporate and statutory policies, regulations, and procedures.
  9. Advise on expenditure related to maintenance and renewal of our workplaces and facilities, ensuring alignment with budget provisions and strategic objectives.
  10. Develop and lead the implementation of strategies to increase efficiency, reduce operating expenditure, and improve sustainability.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, customers, and suppliers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  12. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends, applying knowledge to improve our estate management and facilities services.
  13. Manage resources to ensure effective delivery of estate management issues and tasks, including acquisitions, disposals, lease renewals, and rent reviews.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification, e.g. MRICS, MBIFM, or similar.
  • Sound technical knowledge of Landlord & Tenant Law.
  • Relevant H&S qualifications, e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate or similar.
  • Proven experience in effective management of facilities management.
  • Proven contract management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Desirable: knowledge of policies and standards relating to office accommodation, proven negotiation skills, and full driving license.
