About the Role

CSC Recruitment is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for high-end residential refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation
    • Collaborate with the estimating team to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for high-end residential refurbishment projects.
    • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements.
    • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labour expenses.
  • Data Collection and Analysis
    • Gather and analyze data on all factors that can influence costs, such as materials, labour, and equipment.
    • Maintain a database of cost information and update regularly with current market prices.
  • Bid Preparation
    • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring all required information is included and presented clearly.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand the scope of work and identify any potential challenges.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination
    • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Develop relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable services.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of all estimates and supporting information.
    • Assist in the preparation of regular reports for senior management on project costs and budget status.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Project Management, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in estimating, preferably within the high-end residential refurbishment sector, is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in any estimating software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
