Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at a volume manufacturing company. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical repair of all site equipment, both planned and reactive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out faultfinding and breakdown repair on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, PLC's (Siemens), ovens, driers, gearboxes, etc.
  • Assist with installations of new plant equipment.
  • Perform fabrication repairs and have some basic welding experience.
Requirements:
  • Served a recognised apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline.
  • Industry experience in factory-based maintenance.
  • Sound electrical knowledge and mechanical bias.

This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of £46k for a shift-based engineer. You will work 12-hour shifts (6-6) days and nights, but get every other weekend off as a 3-day weekend. 5 shifts per week, so you'll save fuel and have more time with your family.

This role would suit someone who is mechanically biased with a sound electrical knowledge and has experience in factory-based maintenance.
