Job Description


As a key member of the GE Aviation team, you will play a leading role in the development of control application software for our range of electric drive systems. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on high-performance applications that are critical to our customers' power and energy needs.


Key Responsibilities


  1. Specify, design, code, validate, and maintain application software for megawatt-scale power electronic drive systems for various industrial applications.
  2. Validate application software using Hardware In the Loop (HIL) rigs and laboratory test drives.
  3. Develop application software that interfaces with other peripheral equipment.
  4. Support commissioning and validation of electrical drive systems.
  5. Ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
  6. Integrate control software into larger systems and verify their functionality.
  7. Apply best engineering standards and develop design practices to ensure compliance with relevant health & safety and international standards.
  8. Travel to customer sites for meetings or equipment validation, typically a few times per year for a duration of a few days up to 2 weeks.

Requirements


  1. A relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software Engineering, or equivalent, or significant experience in an industrial software engineering environment.
  2. A sound understanding of programming principles of electrical machines, electrical drives, converters, etc.
  3. Experience working with Variable Speed Drives Application Software (current source drives, voltage source drives).
  4. Experience writing control software for Variable Frequency Drives and machine control (induction machines, synchronous machines, permanent magnet machines, etc.).
  5. An ability to translate high-level design requirements into efficient and robust software.
  6. Availability and an unrestricted right to travel domestically and overseas.
