Hexham, Northumberland, United Kingdom Northumbrian Water Full time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Water Treatment Specialist to join our team at Northumbrian Water, where you will play a crucial role in delivering our wastewater treatment service. Our goal is to enhance and protect the environment while improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for wildlife and local communities.

As a Water Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and controlling wastewater treatment works and pumping stations across the Hexham area. Your daily tasks will involve sampling and analyzing water to ensure it meets the required standards, identifying equipment issues, and conducting routine checks on our assets.

You will use data from company systems to identify performance trends and investigate faults with support from the wider team. Effective collaboration and communication with diverse teams will be essential to maintain compliance with regulatory obligations and safeguard the environment.

About You

We are looking for an individual with excellent technical and interpersonal skills, who can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. As a problem-solver, you should be able to respond quickly to issues, understand the problem, and identify the best solution.

A team player with adaptability and attention to detail is essential for this role. You will work proactively, suggesting improvements and monitoring assets through visual checks, computer systems, and lab analysis. Prior experience working with equipment is advantageous but not necessary, as full training will be provided.

The role involves working with pumps and process equipment, so awareness of health and safety is beneficial. A valid UK manual driving license is also required.
