Critical Care Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Staff Nurse to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Critical Care Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care in our specialist critical care unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care that is underpinned by the best evidence-based practice and our trust's values.
- Work in partnership with patients, families, and friends to deliver care that meets their needs.
- Manage and direct the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting our trust's values and professional nursing practice.
- Develop skills to provide senior nurse cover for the department in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse or their deputy.
- Work proactively to ensure every hospital visit meets the needs of the patient and that patients are discharged in a timely manner.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse or national certificate in area of practice.
- UK recognised degree in Nursing relevant to post.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an NMC revalidation or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate.
Desirable
- Post-graduate qualification related to an area of practice.
- Previous experience relevant to area of speciality.
