About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Staff Nurse to join our Neurosciences Intensive Care team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Critical Care Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working in partnership with patients, families, and friends, and being actively involved in the caring process on behalf of the patient.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care, underpinned by the best evidence-based practice and OUH values.
- Manage, direct, and evaluate the nursing care for a defined caseload of patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain and develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting professional nursing practice and patient care.
- Develop skills to provide senior nurse cover for the department in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse or their deputy.
- Work proactively to ensure every hospital visit meets the needs of the patient and that patients are discharged in a timely manner.
Person Specification
- Registered Nurse or national certificate in area of practice.
- UK recognised degree in Nursing relevant to post.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an NMC revalidation or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate.
