Specialist Learning Support Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Specialist Learning Support Professional to join our team at Teaching Personnel. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) in schools across the Keighley area.
About Our OpportunityThis rewarding role offers the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs, including sensory activities such as hydrotherapy and other specialist interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Engage proactively with pupils, providing hands-on support to ensure their needs are fully met.
- Offer 1:1 and small group assistance to pupils with PMLD, using specialist equipment and resources to enhance their learning experience.
- Support pupils with personal care, feeding, and mobility where necessary, working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized learning plans (ILPs).
- Facilitate and participate in sensory activities, including hydro pools, sensory rooms, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Monitor pupil progress and report on their well-being, adapting support plans as necessary to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs.
- Proven ability to work effectively with sensory activities, such as hydrotherapy, sensory rooms, and other interventions designed to engage pupils.
- A 'can-do' attitude with the willingness to get involved and provide hands-on support, comfortable assisting with personal care tasks, including manual handling and feeding.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to support pupil interaction, flexibility to work in different schools across the Keighley area.
- A valid Child and Adult DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate- applicants may make application through us if they do not currently have this.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant certificate or equivalent.
- Experience with assistive technologies and communication tools.
- Training in manual handling, hoisting, or first aid is an advantage.
- A competitive estimated salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on experience and location.
