User Experience Designer at EMBL-EBI

Your Role as a User Experience Designer
At EMBL-EBI, you'll play a vital role in shaping the user experience for our innovative life science tools and platforms. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- User Research & Testing: Conduct user research studies (interviews, observations, usability testing) to gain deep insights into user needs and behaviors. Collaborate with teams to analyze research findings and translate them into actionable design recommendations.
- Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders through workshops and discussions to gather requirements and understand project goals.
- Design & Prototyping: Translate research insights and stakeholder requirements into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that guide the user journey. Ensure designs are intuitive, user-friendly, and aligned with EMBL's brand identity.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless design process and deliver exceptional user experiences. Advocate for user-centered design principles throughout the development lifecycle.
Your Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, or in a similar role.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your design work and user research capabilities.
- Proficiency with Figma or other design and prototyping tools (Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Experience in information architecture and creating sitemaps.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
